<p>You are a transfer student. Most schools (including those 2) don’t have good FA for transfer students.</p>
<p>There are a few that do. How much aid do you need.</p>
<p>Syracuse, in general, has pretty decent FA. They meet, on average, 95% of need although some of that need is met through loans. They have been doing more for low income applicants in recent years but it’s generally not enough to cover the whole $50K. I think the problem with many packages is that the families can’t afford their EFC…this is a real problem when loans are already included in the package to fund the balance.</p>

<p>Yes…if your parents’ income is high enough that they can afford $50k per year for your costs, then you likely wouldn’t qualify anyway.</p>

<p>I can’t really say how their need based aid is for tranfers from outside of the area but they certainly have many students from all over so the high average is probably indicative of decent aid. SU is heavily committed to helping the Syracuse area kids afford college, so that would include the kids that I know personally. They do give merit scholarships to transfers and are one of the 90 or so schools that match the Americorps education grants (SU expands this to a full tuition scholarship I believe). They also have their own service based scholarship programs.</p>
<p>Syracuse University offers merit scholarships of up to $6,000 to transfer students. In addition, if your parents want you to put some skin in the game you are eligible for an unsubsidized Federal Stafford loan. I’m not familiar with how Villanova awards merit aid but I know most of their institutional awards are need-based.</p>
