I just found out that despite a strong gpa and academic performance, I may have to stay at my community college a fourth year, (stayed a third due to issues in my personal/family life and this time around it turned out I’m missing a single IGETC course).
I’ve gotten into every UC I applied to and have been told I stand a very good chance at UCLA as well as being competitive for Cal. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement; but I’m brainstorming ways to make this coming year of waiting worthwhile and make myself a stronger candidate for admission next time around. Besides the obvious volunteer work, internships, etc, would it at all help to take an SAT subject test (I’m a history major) to have that much more to list on my application, or is it a null idea?
