Does "tentative" FA usually equal the actual one?

I got a letter for my “tentative” FA…

Also, does the MIT’s FA formula pay more attention to family income or family savings?

I don’t know the answer to your question, but was wondering if you had missing forms and are just now recieving your FA package (because I am still waiting for mine and getting nervous)? Thanks :)

Unless there were some huge inconsistencies when they go through your forms in detail from what you reported, yep, that will be your financial aid offer.

Hi there!

The formula is based much more on income than savings. This is true of MIT’s formula as well as the Federal Government’s.

As for “tentative”, as long as your 2006 tax returns are in, there will be no change (other than designation of what loan or work problem you will be assigned).
