Like a top state school vs a CC?
Do you mean, “Does the college that you’re currently in matter to the college you’re applying to”?
It’s hard to know. Different colleges have different criteria I would guess. Some top schools readily accept, or have a system of accepting, students as transfers from CCs – including the UC system, Cornell, Columbia GS, Vassar
