Does this affect me?

Hi i am a senior from Nebraska. Through my years i have a 4.6 GPA, lots of EC’s, 3 sports every year since freshman, 36 ACT(not perfect score though), and a 2340 on my SAT. Though my credit credentials are fairly good, though my past i have been picked up with 2 MIP’s, a DWI with aggravated arrest, and put on diversion 3 times and kicked off once does this affect my chances of getting in?

maybe. I think in the common app there is a section that asks whether or not you have been convicted of a crime.

I’m not sure if what you did fits that (sounds like it does).

I sure don’t want you at my school.

Fastfood15, do you need reminding that Columbia doesn’t use the Common app? :)

Oh jeez. wow that’s embarrassing. I’ll play my “it’s-finals-week-and-i’m-slowly-teetering-closer-and-closer-towards-insanity” card. :)

I bet the Columbia app has a similar section. To OP: Look at the app. Or if you’re not a senior yet then try hard in school and such anyway!

columbia app definitely does have a section like that in the application where you can explain what happened. last year a senior got caught drinking and still got into columbia.but you have quite a few offenses, so i’m not so sure…

If the columbia app doesn’t have a “crime” section, then it’s on the counselor form.
