Does this count as an extra-curricular?

I attend an SAT Prep at a historical society museum/library and I have to take a history course with it and it’s called NY at Play and here is its description:
“What can we learn about a society from what it does for fun? In this class, we will look at New York as a city at play. Subjects will include Coney Island, Central Park, board games, street games and more. Each week, we will study a different way of having fun in the city and examine how different pastimes can tell us a lot about what has happened in our city—and country—over time. We’ll use games, exhibits and objects within the museum to better understand how New Yorkers across centuries have used their free time to have fun. Our conversations will be steeped in historical thinking, but the course will also include opportunities to engage in “play,” such as a visit to Central Park and an opportunity to try out some favorite childhood games from the 1950s.”
I’m going to go to the course every Saturday for 7 weeks and I get a certificate at the end of it and I’m wondering, does this count as an extra-curricular activity?

I’d say so, yup.

yup. just make sure you phrase it well on the apps

Thanks guys, but would this extra-curricular really matter if I was to go for a chemistry major?

I would because it shows how well-rounded you are. It also brings a sense of diversity in your ECs.
