<p>Higher GPA’s are good. However, Elite schools such a Cornell evaluate students based on the amount of rigorous classes that you have taken. For example, Making C+ on Advanced AP Caluculus is better that making A+ on CP classes.</p>
<p>Tips… take as much AP classes as you can handle in your junior year, Review and do well with SAT. Participate and volunteer in your local community, Be nice to your teachers no matter your disagreement with them. You will need their recommendations. Study common sence and listen to your parents.</p>
