Does This Mean I'm Not Meant for Yale?

All right, so this grade will not be seen by Yale, or any other college I apply to, since it is only a marking period grade. Math is NOT my subject, and this year FST has just dragged me through the mud and back. So, I’m going to get a C for my 3rd marking period grade. However, colleges won’t see it, and if I raise it up to an A this marking period, it will not reflect on my GPA.
However, Yale has been my dream school since middle school and I’ve had straight A’s up until this year when I got a B for a semester grade in FST. I’m doing everything a “wannabe-Ivy Leaguer” is supposed to do, including four AP classes, which hasn’t made finding time to study for FST very easy. Does this C mean that I’m not right for an Ivy League school? Do people with a C on a marking period not get into Yale? I’m sorry, but I’m really disappointed and I maybe wanted some reassurance (hopefully there’s some).

Thanks!

god no! relax!!

but do try to get the grade up…

Are you joking? One mistake and all of a sudden you’re not “Yale material”? If every Yale applicant thought like you, they’d all give up the moment they encountered a minor setback like yours. Work hard for the rest of the semester and you’ll be fine.

get a C for a marking period grade is not bad, colleges obviously never see it. last year i was going throuhg a tough time fourth quarter, and ended up with a D for the quarter in biology. thankfully i ended up with a B+ avg for the year in that class. but in the end I still had a 4.8 weighted GPA for junior year, no harm done (except my parents flipped a **** about the D anyways)

If it makes you feel any better, I’m failing a class right now. (Don’t worry mates, I know how to bring it back up)

Well, I’m applying in a couple of months, so I’m sure you can understand if I’m a little jittery. And, I know that I’ll have to take a Math course in college, but I don’t plan on having a career that deals with Math, far from it actually. So, some Ivy League students have had a few low grades? However, I am definitely concentrating on getting the grade up!

this thread makes me laugh

Bump please…

Am I overreacting or is there reason for concern?

Didn’t already enough people confirm that you’re overreacting? But at least you seem to be very ambitious and demand a lot from yourself, congrats to that :)

hey guy lets put it this way, i got a 75 in a class first quarter, brought it up, and i got a likely from dartmouth. Sh** happens man, they understand.

this is hilarious. chilllll

Fst?..

Functions, Statistics, and Trigonometry. It’s basically Pre-Calculus.

Yeah, we have that class at our school, it’s called “Functional Analysis and Trigonometry.” I never took the class, but I remember this because it was abbreviated on transcripts for three years as… no joke… “Fun Anal Trig.”
