Does this outweight bad SAT scores

And when I mean bad, I mean national average bad… Not, “Oh my G-D! I got a 2250 I can’t get into HYPS!”

A solid GPA
Incredible ECs, Leadership positions held, other factors (Such as having tourette syndrome etc…), Great letters of Rec.

Vs.

WEAK SAT

Which will override?

Why not try to retake the SAT?

If everything else is in or above range for the colleges of your choice, a weak SAT by itself won’t hold you back.

Have you talked to college officials how the tourette syndrome would impact your application? I’m wondering if that would work in your favor (as an obstacle that you constantly have to overcome) or against you (maybe colleges are wary of a sick kid with the potential to disturb classes frequently).

Have you considered taking the ACT?

Its different then just retaking the SAT,

I am just saying that hypothetically speaking, Would my SAT scores don’t go up much?

I got a 1500 MVW

why not look at schools that do not use the SAT or try the ACT
http://www.fairtest.org/optstate.html</a> here is a list of schools that do not use the SAT.

If you’re a solid student, taking an hour off every day for a month to study for the SATs will generally increase your score at least 300 points, even more possibly.

Honestly I think you’re being overworried. Just retake it. It’s a test that’s had all its questions set out already, read available. A little time’s all it takes to play the test.

My SATs went up 110 points without me studying a bit, so it can happen

It also depends where you’re planning to apply. You’re not going to get into ivies with the info you’ve given us, but there are certainly plenty of good schools that would take you, and even more that would take you if you improved SAT even a bit, or took the ACT and did better. I agree that looking into SAT-optional schools is an excellent idea. There are a few top-tier colleges that don’t require them, as well as many other excellent ones.

Okay Okay…

HYPOTHETICALLY speaking… What if my scores don’t go up much.

If you are unwilling to work, your scores won’t go up. Self-fulfilling prophecy. Work and they’ll go up, but you won’t nail Harvard this lifetime.

OK!

I am not saying my scores are not going to go up! I actually plan to STUDY MY BUTT OFF!

My question is,

Hypothetically speaking, with a score like 1500 MVW and 970 MV and a 20 on the ACTs

But a solid 3.4 GPA
Incredible ECs, Leadership positions held, other factors (Such as having tourette syndrome etc…), Great letters of Rec.

Can the GPA and ECs outweigh the poor test scores.

I am not talking like IVies or Stanford

I am talking

Ohio University
Ohio State University
Bowling Green State University
Virginia Commonwealth University
Arizona State University
University of Missouri
University of Arizona
South Florida
Hofstra University
Cal-State University-Fullerton
Ball State University
Florida International University

By the way, thanks for the fairtest site, but the only school that really applies for me is ASU and CSU Fullerton

I also want to be a journalism major and strong ECs are very journalism heavy

Even If it doesn’t outwiegh; I think Adcoms wouldn’t be that smart if they didn’t take you 4 all thsoe other factors ((SMH)) The S.A.T doesn’t even measure smarts that much; it just measures test taking skills && who cares about how well your able to take a test really if you’re going 2 economic school or Art school. SMH

So Authentic,

Thanks for the response!

no prob && they better take you or they’re going to hear my mouth. Let me know what schools you got into

do you have connections are something lol!

Any others thoughts or opinions would be appreciated considering the fact that most people just told me I can raise my SAT score

Just curious,

Is their any other sections of my resume I forgot about

Also,

Any others thoughts or opinions

BTW,

Sorry for keep bumping threads, I’m just very hyper focused on college right now
