Does UChicago send out personal applications?

I would think that a university like UChicago wouldn’t. I told my friend that i applied there and he said that he got a personal application from there. He’s not a great friend so i don’t really trust him. Does anyone know for sure if UChicago does or does not send out personal applications?

I’m pretty sure they don’t… I can’t be sure with the new Nondorf administration, but I highly doubt it.

I don’t think so.

He probably confused it with Loyola University- Chicago. I got a TON of e-mails from them about a personal application.

Seeme, UChicago does send out personal applications, as they own the rights to them when you submit one. They are in the process of publishing a book based on submitted application essays.

^ Huh. That’s interesting. Where did you hear that?

And I think when they said"personal applications", they meant pre-filled applications, not copies of previously submitted ones.

IHateUofC is something of a ■■■■■, if you didn’t notice. Although some people seem to find him funny, I’m not much of a fan.

PBush, I’m a waiter at the Quad Club, I overheard Zimmer talking about it

^^ I noticed the username and his other posts, but as much as I disagree with much of what he says, I was giving him the benefit of the doubt as to whether he was telling the truth or not. Also, I wouldn’t be especially surprised if they were, because their essays probably are some of the most interesting admissions essays every year. I’d buy one. ;)

just for clarification… by “personal application,” i meant those streamlined applications some students get that boast no application fee and a quick admissions decision.

haha no. I don’t think Uchicago does that at all. None of my friends that got in (me included) got one of those personalized apps. I highly doubt a school like University of Chicago, especially when they got a 54% increase in EA apps, would do that.

Off topic, but some of my friends were bragging about how they got personal apps from Northwestern, but in reality it was from some school called Northwest.

Many people like to brag about things that aren’t true (but are somewhat close to being true (e.g., Northwestern vs. Northwest, Loyola-Chicago vs. U of C)). Someone at my sister’s school was bragging about getting into Harvard, but it was only January at the time, so although I knew that person was lying, none of her classmates did. More than likely, she just got a letter of invitation to apply to Harvard. High school students know how to twist the truth.

yeah this kid in my school (i seriously think that the believes his own lies) told me, in mid October, that he applied to and got rejected by Columbia. I called him on it and he couldn’t say anything. lol
