Well hello, I’m 18 years old from unusual country. So my 10-12 GPA is 3.1, ACT 29
So my question is do I have chance to get accepted in UCSD.? I heard that some colleges need a diversity, so they’ll accept a student even though his/her’s GPA is below average. So does UCSD need a diversity?

Can you afford non-resident tuition? The UC schools are not going to give u money so they can add a country.

All schools are looking for diversity but the schools are also looking for students that have a chance to succeed academically. Look at the link for UCSD’s common data set and pay attention to the section %acceptance of first time freshman with the GPA range of 3.0-3.24, you will see 1%. Not too good of odds.

There are many other schools that would be a better fit, academically and would appreciate your diversity.

Good Luck

I’M A PERMANENT RESIDENT OF THE USA

Your GPA isn’t competitive for UCSD and, regardless of your permanent residency, if you are not a state resident you will be at a disadvantage for admission priority and financial aid. (Quit shouting on your posts.) The UC schools have plenty of diverse students from everywhere in the world so, if you don’t have the grades and scores, no amount of being “diverse” is going to get you into a competitive UC. The UC’s aren’t supposed to utilize affirmative action in their admissions policies.

The UCs are legally barred from taking race or ethnicity into account in their admissions process.
