does UIUC reject any people??

yes, it is a dumb question.
since all of my friends got into UIUC, it seems pretty obvious to me that
UIUC accepts a LOT of students who are also qualified for a criteria.
please share some thoughts

Its acceptance rate is in the 68% range and thus some do get rejected and I doubt those will go out of their way to broadcast that fact to others. UIUC makes a point of discouraging students from applying who are not in its usual ranges. That is why it publishes its middle 50% ranges for class rank and test scores for eac h of its colleges even in the application itself, and often repeats statements like you will need to show something really special to get in if you are not in those ranges. The impact is that the university avoids getting huge numbers of applicants who are not in the acceptable ranges. The decision to discourage applicants was consciously made with knowledge that encouraging everyone to apply (like many colleges do) could help raise UIUC’s USNews ranking by lowering its acceptance rate. The decision was made that it was better to avoid the cost of reviewing huge numbers of additional applicants than to worry about any rankings.

Like what drusba said. UIUC is a top scholol.

Yeah it is…look at this webby of Top World Uni, UIUC is ranked 25!! WOHOO…and i think thats pretty amazing…ranked above schools like Dartmoth, Brown etc
http://ed.sjtu.edu.cn/rank/2004/top500list.htm</a>
Pretty amazingg!!

UIUC is actually #18 on that list if you take out foreign universities and UCSF, which has no undergrad. This is not surprising since the ranking is based on Nobel Prize winners and research output, and UIUC’s graduate programs are well-regarded around the world, especially in Engineering, the physical sciences, and psychology.

Yeah…thats very truee! It says alot about the school thoughh!
