I know UCLA has a note-taking service where students are paid by the University to take notes which can later be purchased by students at Powell library.

I just started my first semester at USC and I was wondering if USC had the same service.

Some large classes will email students asking if anyone wants to be a note-taker (for some compensation), but none of the small classes I’ve been to do that.

Do you see any lecture notes for sale at the USC book store or library? When I was a student at UCLA many years ago, UCLA lecture notes were sale in the student book store and were superb. As I recall, the lecture notes were from a previous quarter and were similar to the current lectures (as long as you had the same professor/class). These notes had lots of details.

USC doesn’t have a service for all students. Their note taking service is for students with disabilities who need to have someone else take notes for them. People are paid in classes to take those notes. However, they aren’t open to ordinary students. (The type of disability can be varied, and include breaking your arm, so that you can’t write- register with Disabilities Services for more assistance).

In my day, the UCLA lecture notes were really complete and gave additional details. It was very helpful to read the notes before the lecture so that you had an idea of what would be covered.
