I really want to go to USC but it’s extremely expensive and my parents don’t make much money. My parents make less then 10,000 a year and my EFC will probably be zero.

To answer your general thread title: Yes.

As for your backstory, I’m pretty sure with under 10k yearly income (assuming you have no other assets or reasons that your EFC should be higher) most if not pretty much all colleges will give you full tuition grant aid. UC system wide fee full aid is set to 60k a year meaning if you make under 60k a year your entire system wide fees and tuition is cancelled and payed through grants. Seeing as how the UCs are the strictest top colleges in the state with financial aid, I’m guessing at USC it should be similar if not even better so you are more than covered to say the least if you get in.

Good luck!!

Are you an URM applicant and/or a first generation college student?

At USC, there are many scholarships available to minority applicants, Southern California residents, first generation students and students from low-income backgrounds. I specifically suggest you look at USC’s Norman Topping Student Aid Fund, which provides scholarships to USC students from URM or low-income backgrounds.

You might also qualify for more scholarships at USC if you are a National Merit Award finalist or semifinalist.

If not, USC is definitely very generous in their financial aid. I can’t guarantee that you wouldn’t get some loans in the process, but if that is really your family’s yearly income, I can’t imagine why the school wouldn’t cover your tuition and fees with a full financial aid package.

Also, since I’m assuming you’re a California resident from your post saying you are in CSF, remember that if you have a 3.0 or better in HS, you qualify for the Cal Grant, which equates to a little under $10,000 a year as a grant. (Meaning, you don’t have to pay it back.) Talk to your HS counselor about this.
