Does USC usually ask for mid-year report

I did not apply to the scholarship program
Does USC usually ask for mid-year report from those who apply to regular decisions?
How does USC decide whom to ask and what does it mean if you’re not asked or asked?

Thanks!

They probably will unless you have a perfect SAT/ACT or have a 4.0 in AP’s taken since 9th grade or something really stellar for your ECs.

Getting asked means next to nothing, so don’t sweat it if you get asked.

From what I’ve read from last year, people went crazy every time their status changed (or didn’t change).
