I can take upto 17 credits this semester. I have registered for 15 credits and I can’t seem to find any 2 credit classes except for specialized ones…

My S took scuba. It was one credit, but it didn’t count towards his major. I think there are other PED classes that are in the same category.

Some science labs are 2 hours, but they are pretty advanced. I don’t think I recall there is any other than labs than 2 hours. You can take two PED classes though, but they only count as free electives.

Those 2 credit science labs are WAY too much work for 2 credits. UT does not assign credits based on workload, they assign them based on classroom contact time. One weekly class meeting is 1 credit, and one weekly lab is 1 more. It doesn’t matter that the lab itself is four hours long or that the pre-labs, post-labs, and lab reports take another five hours every week.

Remember, taking a 2 hour class does not mean 66% work compared to a 3 hour class. Sometimes a 2 hour class is more work than a 3 hour class.

Taking 17 hours is not always the smartest idea.

Are you in engineering? GE classes are 2 hrs…you basically show up and do group work to help you in certain classes that all engineers take…no hw no tests and counts for gpa
