<p>They treat the writing the same as the SAT II in writing (one of the required SAT IIs before collegeboard got rid of it to put it on the SAT I). A score of 720 (single measure, no AP exam needed) exempts you from the first writing requirement (see this <a href=“http://artsandsciences.virginia.edu/undergrad/requirements/competency.html#firstWriting[/url]”>http://artsandsciences.virginia.edu/undergrad/requirements/competency.html#firstWriting</a> ). I just know I took the SAT II my junior year (much easier than the SAT I writing, or so I’ve heard) and got a 780 so I didn’t bother to take the new SAT, haha.</p>
