Does W&M track visits and interest?

I would say no. The common data set, which all colleges complete regarding their admissions process, student body composition, etc., asks colleges to weigh the factors they consider in evaluating applicants for admission as very important, important, considered, and not considered. Factors considered “very important” by W & M are GPA, standardized test scores, rigor of hs curriculum, state residence, etc. Only two factors - religious affiliation and level of applicant’s interest - are ranked “not considered” in W & M’s 2008-2009 common data set. You can link to it here: [Common Data Set](http://web.wm.edu/ir/CDS/cds.html)

Re the interview - since the resources don’t exist for every applicant to be interviewed, the lack of an interview is not held against the student. If you do interview, however, and it goes well, it helps!
