Does Wesleyan consider SAT2 to be very important?

hey guys im a japanese american guy going to an international school in japan.

my current scores are…

SAT1:1990 (last january)
SAT2 Japanese 800
SAT2 World History 600

I am currently planning to take the SAT1 on october and november, but some people say that my SAT2 scores may be too low for Wesleyan Early Decision1…

But here’s the thing, I think I can get a 2200+ on the october test (only if i get lucky cuz during the 2months of my summer ive been consistently getting 2100-2200), but I dont want to take the risk of not achieving that so I want the november SAT1 as well… BUT AGAIN THAT WORLD HISTORY 600 LOOKS SO BAD!

SO i guess the question is. assuming that my SAT1 score is decent, will my WORLD HISTORY 600 be a deciding factor of my rejection? (or at least go against my odds?)

Thanks for reading.

Actually no one except an adcom teammember can answer your question with any credibility. I do know that my son’s high school college counselor–the best one in northern California who guided my elder son into Wesleyan two years ago–would say that your SAT1 score is the key issue. He would suggest at least a 2200 overall. Wesleyan does not do a numbers only review of ED and RD. Wesleyan says that they look at your entire profile, and the strength of your academic record–difficulty of courses/GPA in those courses, theteacher and counselor recos and the Comm App essay you wrote are all part of the mix. You can have a 2400 SAT and 4.4 GPA and still not be admitted. They look for a certain overall class profile and no one here has any idea what would be missing in that profile by the time your app is reviewed by AdCom. good luck.
