Right now I attend LAVC but heard other community colleges are more demanding and have higher transfer rates, should I try going somewhere else?
There’s too many different factors to consider when looking at transfer rates. For example: Is the college in a low income area? Lower income students are less likely to end up following through with their degree.
In addition, different colleges do teach classes differently. For example business calculus at my college is 3 units, but at the community college over the hill it’s a 4 unit class. At the same time, my college does 4 units for it’s freshman level composition/reading classes, but that same college over the hill only does them as 3 unit courses.
