Does your college choice really matter?

I know that your college choice matters, but between the top 50 colleges how much different is one from another?

for example, if i decided to go to tufts instead of NYU, would i really get a better education?

the main question im trying to find the answer to is if i should choose a college based on better ranking or one that is more suitable for me but ranked lower

Thanks

^In my opinion, tufts is a better college than NYU. To answer your question, you should DEFINITELY (99%) pick a college that is suitable to you. The difference between the #35 college and the #29 is slim. You want to be happy the next four years of your life, so pick a place that suits you. (i.e. big city, small town, research university, greek life, clubs, division 1 sports). Good Luck :)

Even beyond the top 50, I believe what you’re saying applies. I’m a very strong believer in the importance of fit. My mom personifies the idea of a good fit. Her happiness in her college experiences has instilled in me the belief that I should aim to find the best fit possible.

Even in college, there’s so much outside of the classroom (I mean, if you live on campus, college is a 24/7 situation for more than half the year), with clubs, sports, everything. Picking the right college in all respects is incredibly important-who cares if you’re getting a top-10 education if you can’t stand your life?

Be happy. Pick the school you like best.
