Does your DH wear lavender?

I’m looking at the color options from the link on post#29 and will give my honest impressions of each color:

Dark Jade - I’d wear it
Midnight Blue - no way
Classic Lavender - if grey it’s fine; hard to tell
Wild Blue - Not the best but I’d wear it
Allports Blue - no way
Sapphire Blue - definitely no
Silver Fox Grey - looks pretty good
Teal - I like it
Dried Morello - I’d wear it
Anchor Royal - no thanks
Fall Khaki - bland but safe; I’d wear it
Blue Porcelain- horrible
Smoke Grey - very nice
Chrome Grey - also nice

Call me a boring guy if you like but I’m partial to classic, understated colors.

“Call me a boring guy”

You’re a boring guy.

I asked Mr. if he would wear a lavender sweater. “As long as it is not pink. Pink - I would not wear it, maybe only for yard work if the other stuff is in the washer.”

I like the mental picture of your husband doing yard work in a pink cashmere sweater, @BunsenBurner.

You should see him doing yard work in Boss trousers and Burberry polos. B-) That’s where his stained or ripped work clothes go to retire.

@3puppies I came to say the exact same thing.

Mr R is colorblind so he doesn’t much care. Though as a ginger, I’m not sure he’d look good in lavender.

He doesn’t care about what other people think of what he wears though. He’d wear dresses if he thought they were more comfortable. (And he looks way better in them than I do :frowning: )

ETA: My wardrobe is basically all black. Mr R’s is way more colorful than mine. Both of his brothers and his dad are colorblind, too, so all the females in the family are used to color coordinating their partners.

Could just be the picture but agree the sweater does not look lavender–to my eye that is gray. I think most of the colors on that palette in #29 are understated with the exception of Sazerac Red and the Sapphire Blue - H would not wear either of those.

My fav is the Dried Morello.

Dried Morello? A color? That’s just making me hungry.

@romanigypsyeyes I think gingers look great in lots of purple shades! I have auburn hair and never wore purple until I met a friend in college with beautiful bright red hair whose favorite color was purple, she wore lots of shades of it and it looked great on her. I’ve been wearing it ever since.
When I first read the thread the color I imagined I thought my H would probably not wear in a sweater. He wears some light lavender shirts. Looking at the sweater, it’s pretty subtle. I think he would wear it and from how you describe your H I think it would look good on him!

@BunsenBurner Yardwork Pink. That’s a good name. The pink clothes often go on sale.

@conmama does thatblink accurately reflect the color? If so, my husband would not wear it…because it is too drab. But he would wear a regular light lavender…that does not look grey.

A couple decades ago I noticed a guy dressed in business casual doing yard work at my neighbor’s. Talking to them later they said he was their new gardener. He sold his company for millions and decided to hire out as a landscaper to keep busy in retirement. I guess his most casual clothes were khakis, polos, and loafers. Not sure how long that lasted as we moved soon after.

@thumper1 , it is not drab like the picture, much richer color than that. I actually tried to take a photo and put it on my avatar, but the picture does make it look drab.

My H aside from. It wearing lavender would hate to get a sweater for a gift. For many years his Mom would buy him sweaters for his December birthday, He hated getting a sweater. He much preferred when his Dad picked the gift.

@busdriver11 I laughed when I read your post. My husband would have the same reaction! To be fair, though, I dislike the color lavender, too, so would never buy it for anyone.

My h would not wear lavender. He owns and sometimes wears a peach and a pink solid Ralph Lauren Blake “dress” shirt in the summer, but can’t see him actually wearing lavender. My son needed a lavender shirt as a high school senior to “match” his then girlfriend’s dress. I can’t get any of the boys to take it so it’s going to the next Goodwill trip. It’s an “unusual” color for men…I don’t know why when they will wear pink, peach and other pale colors.

I like the Dried Morello the best, also.

My husband and son both would wear pink and lavender, as well as my dad! I will say I prefer lavender to my husband’s baby pink polo he wears way too often; I like pink on him, but for some reason, I hate that shirt. Maybe because the shirt is over 25 years old

So it was red when he first bought it?
