^^^title is question. I think this only applies to private schools though…

My school does. If your a incoming freshman AND new to that school, you can’t take Honors Physics (but you can take Honors Geometry).

This kinda frustrates me, because I know a lot of Physics from my middle school (in fact, about 1/2 of the curriculum I’ve learned before). So I’m not being challenged (in that class) because I’m a new student.

Physics is generally an upper level course which at my school you need to be in at least Pre-Calculus to take. If you don’t know the required math, you’ll fall behind. Also, it’s not really penalizing if every incoming student is subject to the same rules.

At my school, it is from grades Pre-K to 12. If you join the high school as a new student (to the high school AND the school itself), your penalized.

There are 3 different Physics: Normal level, Honors, and AP. AP is only for Seniors though.
