Dog friendly bed breakfast, farm, motel in ny, nj, pa

We are looking for a place to go with our small dog which welcomes pets and has things to do with them in the area that are also pet friendly. Looking to travel 2 hours from newark new jersey area. Thanks so much for any suggestions you may have!

Not sure about the locations but we stay at Kimpton Hotels sometimes when we travel. They are pet friendly.

Here you go: [Lehigh Valley Bed and Breakfast | About our Historic Pennsylvania B&B](http://www.glasbern.com/about-glasbern.html) Lehigh County is about an hour from Newark.

I recently had to travel with my daughter and her pets. I used [BringFido.com - Pet Friendly Hotel & Dog Travel Directory](http://www.bringfido.com) to find dog friendly hotels.

Several of the different Marriott chains are pet friendly, including Residence Inns which are nice because they offer more space, and also serve a free breakfast.

I believe La Quintas also are pet friendly and was surprised at breakfast at how many chose the hotel chain on that basis (we have no pets).

You mentioned wanting things to do in the area. Bethlehem has festivals at different times all year. Here’s the big one for the summer Musikfest.org[/url”>http://www.musikfest.org/]Musikfest.org

While I think La Quinta is a western chain, they are absolutely dog friendly.

I routinely travel with my two poodles and have found that MOST hotels (not just a few) will allow pets, sometimes free and sometimes for a small fee. If you have a non-shedding breed, point that out when you reserve, as I have found that can get the fee waived.

When I travel with my dogs, I do make a point of tipping the housecleaning staff a little extra, because dogs do make for extra work and I don’t want the staff to complain.

Several of the hotel chains give a discount to AKC members. An AKC member is anyone who has paid the dog registration fee… Try using the discount code “AKC” when you register; I’ve been pleasantly surprised how often it works.

I know you didn’t mention hotels in the title but if you’re open to those too, we usually choose Best Westerns because the majority allow dogs.
