<p>I’ve never owned a dog so have no idea of sizes. I’d like to buy an NFL-themed pet collar/bandana for my sister’s new dog as a Christmas gift. I haven’t seen him yet, but he’s a 7-year-old rescued Golden Retriever. Would I need a medium size collar do you think? The choices on most sites are just S, M, or L.</p>

Everyone calls their dog a medium dog – I speak from experience in getting people to describe their dog – but for a Golden … absolutely LARGE. If XL was a choice, I’d consider it. You want a 22-24" neck size.</p>
<p>Thanks! I found a site which offers XS through XL. The XL would be 18-26", but they don’t have the right team. On that site, L is 14-20" which might be too small then? I wonder what the L length would be for a site that only offers the three options.</p>
