Donations for Boston Survivors

Someone asked about donations for survivors of the Boston bombings. Here’s one charity currently being set up and endorsed by the mayor and governor. It is for those most in need rather than specific individuals.

thanks Himom

fyi–I actually just tried to donate w my cc, didn’t work said must use paypal as that email was connected to paypal, so tried to use paypal, another error message. wonder if it’s just glitchy bc of many donations. will try later and contact the org if still not working.

It may be a combo of factors you mention, plus being a new site and org. Just wasted to get the info out since it seems a legit site and has raised over 2M so far with the first 1M from one donor insurer. Glad it’s applying for retroactive 501c3 nonprofit status. It means it will also have board of directors overseeing the org.

Adidas was selling t-shirts for $26.20 with all proceeds going to Onefundboston:

I believe there was a run in NYC with proceeds going to OneFundBoston too.

I just sent them a check. I was impressed by the list of $1,000,000.00 donors and how quickly they responded.

Very touching tribute here:
