Don't Be Fooled By the Term "Private"

I know of quite a few schools that people add on to their HADES list typically as a backup. One thinks it’s “private” or it’s “boarding”, it must be good. Yes, I think the concept of boarding school truly is beneficial, but that does not mean the academics are engaging or rigorous. Many of these “back-up” schools, with even higher tuitions, are packed with kids who don’t take school seriously, and are not interested in learning. The teachers believe the school is wonderful (it is compared to some public schools), but the students are there to show off designer clothes and social skills. The school could be great, if only students were intellectually stimulated.

I’m trying to advise you not to immediately fall back on your back-up school… like a booty call. If you’re applying to schools who can be categorized with HADES then you most likely are looking for HADES characteristics, and should do your best to be where you will be happy.
