Don't know what to do

Hey, I’m a junior in high school and I know that may sound like “I have a lot of time” I really like to be on top of things. I visited the university of florida and I did not like the campus at all. I really love florida state but I feel like UF is such a good school academically it would be stupid of me not to go if I get in.
4.0 GPA
2000 SAT score
28 ACT (I’ll retake both of them)
9/495 in my class
International buisness major with a minor in finance or economics.
Cons about UF that’ll make me lean more towards FSU? Please help!

There are plenty of “good schools academically” that may or may not be the right fit for you. But congrats on your stats so far, they seem very good. Lots of students go to UF/FSU in Florida and many do very well. It has more to do with the student than the institution per se. Either school could be a good fit, that’s for you to determine. I wouldn’t automatically choose UF for academic reasons. Florida State also has an honors college, and it sounds like you’d be a good candidate for that. (helpful with course scheduling and other perks)

It might be more important to look at what your possible intended majors are, and look carefully at schools for how well they serve those majors.

If my kid was able to get a highly selective/academically strong school but it was a bad fit for him for other reasons, there’s no way I’d encourage him to go to that school. Now if your other options are BAD for you major, or the school is just bad academically, you’d have to wonder why you’d even apply there.

Good luck, lots to think about, enjoy the process!
