I am applying for Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism MSJ degree, and I really don’t know where to even start with my required professional statement. I know why I want to go to Northwestern (Its the absolute best journalism school in the world, I’ll be surrounded by amazing, experienced journalism professors who’s feedback is invaluable, and I’ll be surrounded by passionate students who push each other to always strive to be better) and I know why I want to do my chosen specialization (my work experience gave me a love for healthcare journalism), but I don’t know how to communicate that. Do they want it to be a creative and descriptive narrative, or something more straight to the point?

- In addition, in 300 words or less, explain why you are applying to the specialization you selected and how this specialization fits into your career goals.
