Don't think twice its alright

17 white male, from a very competitive high school on Long Island, feeling a bit under pressure from college things…was wondering if anyone could give me a good idea of what I should expect.

SAT(M-CR)-770, 650
ACT with Writing-31
GPA-3.54 weighted.
School does not offer a class rank, but I assume I’d be in the top 25%(I go to a nationally ranked school)

All honors classes.
AP World-5
AP American-5
AP Bio-4
AP Lang-4
AP Comp-4

Currently Taking, AP Eco, AP Lit, AP Physics, AP Calc AB
Should be a very solid letter of recommendation from my awesome AP World Teacher.

After School Activities
3 Years Varsity XC(2 time captain)
2 Years Varsity Wrestling
1 Year Varsity Winter Track
3 Years Varsity Outdoor Track(2 time captain)
3 Year Improv Club
3 Year Brainstormers
3 Year Chess Club

I am a prospective Natural Resource Economics major, or maybe Environmental Engineering, it really depends on the school as the majors for this category change immensely.

I am applying EA/First Round for:
Rice
UNCCH
Univ of Michigan
Univ of Wisconsin
Univ of Washington
Univ of Vermont

Regular for:
Geneseo(instate)
Univ of Delaware
Virginia Tech
UT(Austin)

well if you actually bothered reading all this, what do you reckon?

probably in at all.

^ yeah I second that

I don’t get it?!?!?!

My point was…sarcasm or no sarcasm haha, I realize if have an extremely low chance of UNC because of oos

I think you have a good chance at all of them, EVEN UNC (and especially Geneseo [even though Bing, Geneseo, and Stony Brook are hard to get into])

And btw… I like your title (because I love Bob Dylan).

Your responses are a bit suprising

Why can’t people write “all right.” Seriously, ‘alright’ it’s like writing “you’re” as “your.”

^ Alright=All right. You’re =/=Your

In at all except UT-Austin, which is definitely a reach. It’s very competitive out of state. Definitely add some more prestigious schools.

it is very nice to hear all this, thank you all for responding(except the ******* grammar correcter)

So far I’m in for engineering at UMich, UVM, and Wisco :D

Yo…you’re on the long island wrestling forum. I recognize your name haha

Isn’t ED over for Rice? Plus that is a big reach for you

Whoever said the OP was in for sure at Rice was seriously delusional. You didn’t get in, did you? Cause I would’ve given you a high reach for that, I’m sorry to say.

Um…you’ve got in at all except for UT-Austin, UWashington, and UWisconsin. UT-Austin is fairly competitive OOS, so low reach there. People always discount UWashington, as it is a very competitive school that’s even difficult for Washington residents to get into. Your GPA will kill you there, but they might let you in with your SAT scores and such, so low reach there as well. UWisconsin’s just a good school in general, but not as hard as the former two, so match here.

Chance me back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/614855-do-not-click-button-if-you-do-though-chance-me-i-ll-chance-you-back.html

Rice - Possibility of being accepted, but I think your GPA is too low. 20% admission chance
UNCCH - Maybe
Univ of Michigan - Accepted more than likely
Univ of Wisconsin - Accepted
Univ of Washington - accepted
Univ of Vermont - accepted

Regular for:
Geneseo(instate) - accepted
Univ of Delaware accepted
Virginia Tech accepted
UT(Austin) - Probably declined, but maybe not :(. even if your school doesn’t rank if you think you’re only top 25% that doesn’t sound too good, you need to be 10-20%

Haha you caught me, I use that forum every once in a while, even though I am a pretty mundane wrestler.

Yeah, I meant regular decision for Rice, I don’t actually know too much about the school but they said I could apply for free because of my AP scores, so I figured what the hell.

Oh, I should have been more specific I meant UWashington in Seattle which was one of my safeties (not St. Louis). lol I already told you I got into wisconsin, so why did you say in at all except…

“Univ of Michigan - Accepted more than likely”
Read my earlier post :D

And my bad, you weren’t criticizing. Wheatley’s heavyweights…you were just asking a question

In at all except UNC is a reach
