Don't Worry About Rankings

I have gained a lot of insight and grown a lot since high school, and my one word of advice is to not really worry or read into rankings. You can get into med school whether you go to Stanford or Arizona State. Do you have ivy-level stats but want to stay closer to home and attend Utah State because you’ll get homesick? Great, do that. Would you rather attend University of Illinois at Chicago rather than University of Chicago, even though you were admitted to both, because you’re nervous that there will be way too much thrown at you at U of C? That’s fine, too. I’m tired of seeing people become so obsessed by rankings, because fit is VERY important but overlooked, in my opinion. It’s not where you go, it’s how how much you take advantage of the opportunities given to you (although if you want to do research, it may make sense to go to a research u over a small school).
My two cents.
