<p>My friend would like to know if it is possible to change the dorm building you were assigned to once you get it? She and her boyfriend would like to be in the same building, but she got Spruce and he got Furness. Can either one of them switch other to the other’s dorm (preferably him going to Spruce), or is that not allowed?</p>
<p>My suggestion would be to call the office of student life now and try to work out the arrangements. Once school starts, there is a period early in the first semester when students can request dorm changes but it can get complicated because any change requires the consent of all impacted students. On the other hand, during the school week students are so busy at night that there is not a lot of free time for socializing anyway. Your friend shouldn’t make too big a deal about being in different dorms; Furness is only about 3 blocks from Spruce and that in of itself won’t prevent her and her boyfriend from spending time together.</p>
