Dorm question

If a freshman comeds in with enough credits for sophomore standing, can the first year student gat a room in StuVi 2. Also, are athletes housed in a particular dorm? Thanks!

it is an extreme circumstance when an incoming freshman can get a room in stuvi 2. coming in with more credits will not give them priority in picking housing for the first year. the way it works is juniors get to pick housing first, and then sophomores. whatever is left over is generally for the incoming freshman. i don’t believe there are specialty dorms for athletes except for the crew team that lives in towers. I just see that most of them are placed in west or warren.

if a freshman is guaranteed housing by sending in the deposit to reserve a spot, and there are no more rooms left on campus, BU will end up putting them where ever they can find room, including an off campus hotel. if there is a freshman who gets stuvi 2, they are indeed lucky

StuVi would be a terrible choice for a freshman anyway. Not a good place to meet new people at all. In my opinion, Warren is ideal.

freshmen are not allowed to live in stuvi 2 even if they have extra credits. you can’t get those credits until after your first semester begins. then they will get advanced status for picking the next year. they shouldn’t need to put people in the off campus hotels anymore since they built stuvi 2.

oh, and yes sometimes the athletes end up in certain dorms. I know that the hockey team often live on Bay State/Stuvi when they become upperclassmen. the crew team generally live in towers, and freshman athletes on soccer/lacrosse/bball teams are often housed in west campus or 1019. they don’t HAVE to live there though…athletes can still opt to live with other friends etc.
