In my dorm, I won’t be able to put the end of my bed against a wall. There is a bookshelf on one end of the room and the closet on the other. The bed frames do not have headboards. This means I won’t really have any way to sit up in bed to study, read, etc… Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone have any ideas on how to make a headboard that doesn’t need to lean against a wall.

Thanks for any ideas!

Don’t rooms have four walls?

From what it sounds, you have two walls taken up: the wall with a closet and the wall with the bookshelf. What about the third wall? The fourth?

Does the bookshelf go from floor to ceiling and span across the entirety of the wall? Are you willing to back you bed up against it or next to it to create a “back” to your bed?

Do you have a picture?

You can still sit ON the bed and study, read, etc. You just won’t be able to do so while under the sheets. Sit with your legs toward the side of the bed, and use a comforter if you need a cover. Extra pillows or an armed pillow works fine for sitting across a bed rather than lengthwise.

im usually good with arranging dorm rooms to maximize space or get a certain look. if you can post a picture or tell us what college and dorm you are staying in i can look at the door floor plan and tell you how to get what you want.
