Dorm sheets

Lakemom, it might be different now, but you could usually get things online at BBB even if the store didn’t carry it. At least I did that 2 years ago, got an extra set with an online coupon. I also do it for shower stall curtains, they never seem to have them in store, but I get free shipping online.

Pretty much bought all sheets and towels for dorms at either BBB or Target and at the late Linens & Things… you can also get sheets/towels on sale at Macy’s especially if you are a Macy’s charge customer and get extra discount on already reduced items.

Macy’s “Charter Club” - on sale. High thread count and available in twin XL. (Don’t have a Macy’s charge card and still got a great deal!)

I got ours from American Made Dorm, they feel quite nice and they even have bedding bundles as well.

yikes, I just noticed the XL Sheets I bought at Target are 80" long… and on my ds’ dorm site is says his bed is 85.5"… who makes sheets that long?! It’s hard to find dimensions on these online sites.

I second Macy’s Charter Club and Martha Stewart sheets. D said that she felt like royalty sleeping on them (I had to send her a new set since her Target set mysteriously disappeared - talk about finding Twin XL sheets in the spring )

Ldavis, some sheets, like the Charter Club I got, are designed to fit chubby mattresses up to 15-20 inch thick. I’m pretty sure those will fit your kid’s skinny dorm mattress.

Really any place that you would normally buy sheets will have twin XL. We’ve bought them at Kohl’s and the jersey ones at Target. Three kids, none complained (and they would complain!), so I guess they were fine.

okay… the BED is 85.5 ", the mattress is 80, we are good! By the way, Target has really soft microfiber XL sheets, $30 that are SO soft.

The Wamsutta ones we got at BBB are very nice - I think they were $40 on sale and they are 400 thread count. That might be more than some want to spend on college sheets but my S has a thing about soft sheets. He had always had Lands End sheets on his bed at home and didn’t like the feel of many of the sheets we felt at Target and Kohl’s. I agree that the quality of the Lands Ends sheets has really deteriorated.
