<p>Last week’s Carletonian spelled out the final plans for the two new dorms and they look fantastic. </p>
<p>They’ll be built adjacent to one another on First Street across from the Language and Dining Center, essentially forming a new quad with Nourse and Myers (at right angles). They’ll be built in early 1900’s Nourse/Evans style with state of the art green-friendly construction (solar panels, solar water heating, etc.).</p>
<p>One will be standard singles and doubles. One will contain “independent living” suites, quads and quints. </p>
<p>Existing Watson triples will be converted to large doubles.</p>
<p>Construction is to start in about 2-3 months targeting occupancy Fall 2009.</p>
<p>justacluelesskid: Sorry, singles freshman year will still be few and far between (you sure you want a single as a freshman???). But the new construction along with the townhouses, etc. should make for great housing options next year.</p>
