Dorm tips for you first-timers

Don’t eat the leftover pizza from 2 days ago, despite what you think it is NOT okay to eat, You will be ****ting water for the next 3 days.

Don’t like your roommate? Can’t talk about problems? ■■■■ out there! 8 months is a long ass time. If you keep telling yourself “Well, I only have 5 months left” then I pity you fool.

You don’t have too be overly nice to your roommate, remember “if you give a mouse a cookie, he’s gonna want a glass of milk…”

Your room is the worse place to study.

Also don’t be afraid to take a dump, some girls will just rip one.

And a good rule is that all music should be played on headphones for both of you, no exceptions.

Experienced dormers, feel free to post.

lmao, this is funny :D

Ughhhh at number 5. I’ve always had a thing about public restrooms and we have communal bathrooms so I often have to hold it until night time when no one is in there. :(

My room is the total exception on #4 – it’s crazy how quiet it is in here! Otherwise, all of those are pretty universal. #5 is something that’s very important to learn before getting to college!!

You aren’t going to change overnight. Slobs – mark your roommate surveys as such since you probably won’t be a clean freak overnight.

That’s my big one so far.

I disagree with #4. My roommate is rarely in the room when I am and the “study places” are usually packed with study groups and are noisy. My room is the perfect place to study.

I love doing work in my room. It’s where I get the most done. And my room at home is a god awful mess, but my dorm room is actually fairly clean.

Since when does refrigerated pizza go bad in 2 days?

maybe it was something with my fridge, it wasn’t a pretty week. Then I’d actually do it again =p

^ Actually, when I got to my dorm, I put some food in there for a day and ate it again. Was sick for a few days after that. I ended up cleaning it (Clorox wipes and all), then setting the temperature lower. Haven’t been sick since.

4 was true for me last year, I was in a regular freshman dorm, but this year I’m in the honors dorm with a mix of freshmen/upperclass and its a lot quieter and easier to study. So it depends on the dorm/floor and of course your roommate.

LOL at #2, so true, switch rooms/roommates now if you can, save your sanity.

I look at some of these “things to bring to college” lists and they’re HUGE.

My tip would be, DONT bring too many things. In fact, my room is as sparse as possible. I’m not saying you shoulnd’t put posters and whatever, but keep things to a minimum.

This way, I can just pack everything into my bimmer and go (last year, i had to make TWO trips, not fun)
