Whats the freshman dorm sitch? All doubles? Suites?

Freshman generally have doubles, with the occasional triple or quad.

KNow of anyone who has gotten in with lowish SAtS? Stellar ECs, recs, essays, GPA, but 1830 SAT? Is the sat the be-all and end-all at Bucknell?

hey, my brothers gf’s friend goes to Bucknell and she got in with an 1200 on the old SAT. but she took all the AP and Honors classes.

Okay, thanks. I am not familiar with the old SAT. How does a score of 1200 on that compare with the new SAT?

two of my freshman hallmates were admitted with <1200 sats, though one was an ed admit and the other got in off the waitlist. bucknell has become somewhat more selective since that time, but its certainly not impossible for an otherwise well qualified candidate to be admitted without great sats.

and to convert your score to the old sat, just drop your writing score.

on the dorms, assuming the swartz hall renovation actually occurs this summer, freshmen will be in a pretty good situation in regard to housing. a vast majority of the freshman options will still be your typical doubles, but they will all be pretty nice (either relatively new or recently renovated) with small halls, which are good for community building.
