<p>I don’t care for dorm life. We have washers and dryers but they suck. There is a company that offers to do your laundry for a fee. I also found another company that will clean your room. I thought it would be fun to list all the things our dorms lack and see how bad others have it. Let put a list together. I will start.</p>
<p>No real help getting off campus housing.
Exterminators could come more offten.
Food, need I say more.</p>

<p>I’ve lived out of tents for weeks at a time, and I find dorm life more uncomfortable. It’s just a different lifestyle I guess.</p>
<p>haha…thought this was a thread started by someone who moved in to a dorm that was missing stuff…</p>
<p>When I moved my daughter into her dorm for soph year a few weeks back, we were told that some of the rooms in her dorm were missing beds!! (so I guess missing luxury would be down at the bottom of that kid’s list)</p>
<p>Mine is missing toilet lamp, bathroom sink’s lamps and the bathroom heater is not working (is was supposed to be a “special” graduate school dorm). 2/3 of my floor’s flatmates are Chinese or Taiwanese and we’re missing the ability to communicate in English in informal ocasions. I’m a foreigner also, but now sometimes I feel like I’m not only a foreigner but one who cannot talk in the alleys 'cause everybody speak Chinese. It’s frustrating - they all attend English-taught programs of course, but don’t give a dime if non-Chineses are willing to be nice and talk to them while they’re all cooking rice and chicken in the kitchen!</p>
<p>What services would we pay for? I think i will try the laundry service.</p>

cleaning supplies
shelves, because I need way more room than they give me ;P</p>

Windows that open more than quarter of an inch
Shelves (definitely)
Smooth walls to put posters/etc. on
Outlets (our room has a grand total of 2)
Ethernet cable (we have one… for between 2-4 people)</p>
<p>Privacy, that’s about it. </p>
<p>Our food is awesome
