"Double-dipping" with AP credits

For example, let’s say I score a 5 in AP English Language. UW gives 5 credits of VLPA for this and counts it as ENGL 190. Bellevue College, on the other hand, counts it as 5 credits of Engl 101, which, when transferred to UW, counts as 5 credits of ENGL 131, under the Composition category. My question is, it is possible to use the AP score to essentially get credit from UW twice by not only submitting the AP score to UW directly but also submitting it to BC, then transferring over those credits to UW for 5 /more/ credits?

No. They only accept them once.

^so it shows up the same on the transcript that is transferred from BC to UW? Wouldn’t it show ENG 101 instead of the AP class?

No, it shows the AP class only. I think a human being goes through each transfer transcript and sorts things out so that you only get credit once.

"For example, let’s say I score a 5 in AP English Language. UW gives 5 credits of VLPA for this and counts it as ENGL 190. "

So that’s what you will get, I am pretty sure. Engl 190 only, not Engl 190 AND Engl 131. At least that’s how it worked for me when I started in Fall 2009.
