Double major at these schools??

I am still a junior so I still have some more time before I solidify anything; HOWEVER, I was wondering what the consensus was on these schools for a economics double major. Northwestern, Cornell, and JHU seem high on my list. I did not know if the majoring in Economics and another subject (history, gov, middle eastern studies) at these three schools would be too strenuous. Also, would this be a good path for trying to get either into a prestigious law or graduate school??

There is 0 evidence to suggest double concentrating will help you get into any program or get any job anymore than one concentration.

This perception is totally bogus and widespread.

Law school only cares about your GPA and LSAT, basically, and graduate schools will want to see how you do research in that particular discipline. If you want to go to grad school for economics you should probably concentrate in math or applied math instead.

Math and Economics is best for Econ PhD. This is one of the only instances I know of where there is a preference.

Sorry, I did not necessarily mean graduate study specifically in economics. I would think more along the lines of SAIS. I did not think that the double major would help me that much; I just wanted to make sure it wouldn’t inhibit me in any way.
