Hello, I am considering do a double major in Bunessies and Dance. I LOVE dancing but I also want a backup incase it doesnt workout hence bunessies. I just wanted to know the implications of this. Will I graduate in 4 years, will it hinder my social life, will i still have time for clubs and electivities. The college I wanted to double major at is Unversity of Maryland College park
Will you graduate in four years? That depends entirely on your university. Take a look at the course requirements for dance and for business and see how many classes/credits are required. Dance sometimes requires extra workshops, recitals, and practice times, and you often have to participate in performances. So take that into account as well. The classes may also overlap in times, so it’s hard to predict up front. However, you may be able to look at the current course schedule and the schedule for the last two years to see how much the classes have overlapped in the past.
Will it hinder your social life? Will you have time for clubs and electives? Again, depends on the requirements for the degrees and your personal level of energy and gregariousness. Take a look at the course catalog. One thing that is true, though, is that you will probably have less time than if you only had one major or a major and a minor.
