Double major in Physics and Painting

I want to double major at Boston U. in Physics and Painting. I was accepted to CFA and only recently decided on the double major. Do I need to inform them now on my plan? The website says you need to declare the majors around the end of your sophomore year but, since they are so different, I want to start planning it now. I will be starting in the fall of 2011.

Unfortunately, I’m going to say that’s not going to happen by a long shot. There’s so many labs and studio hours that you’ll have to spend, you’ll be completely overwhelmed. You might want to try minoring in painting, or participating in an art club or something… I don’t think any serious dean of students/advisor would let you do this to yourself.

It would be hard to do two majors which require so much time. Maybe with a lot of AP credit it would be reasonable.

THey’ll probably let you do it, but be prepared for nightmarish scheduling and probably some summer classes.
