Double major to go with psychology?

My goal is to be a counselor. However, sitting with a bachelors in psychology is nearly worthless financially. Add the cost of grad school and it’s got me worried. Are there any majors that sort-of coincide with counselling psychology and will open up more employment options?

I know people who have double majored in social work and psychology, and also of some friends who have gone into neuroscience and psychology for a bio focus. My boyfriend got a psych degree and is now studying to become an international humanitarian lawyer, and has also considered becoming a counselor for veterans, as he is a vet himself. So any criminology-type degree would fit fine also. Just have an open-mind, though to be honest, a degree in social work will do you more than one just in psych. Good luck
