Double major with computer science

I was planning to take a double major with computer science and electrical engineering. can some one list the pros and cons of that combination also list other good combination with computer science.

Thanks in advance

Pros:

 • Lots of overlapping coursework, easy to complete
 • Related subjects, knowledge of one useful to other
 • Both very employable

Cons:

 • Lots of overlapping coursework, not a lot of added value
 • Related subjects, could just do one or other
 • Both qualify you for many of the same jobs

Other majors that are good with CS:

 • Math … academic research, scientific computing, numerical analysis, etc.
 • Physics / eng. besides EE and CompE … scientific computing, computational science, some engineering, etc.
 • Business / Economics … finance, business, IT, etc.

There are many excellent schools with the EECS major - you may want to look at those schools. It’s certainly an endorsement of the approach.
