Double Major

When thinking of a suitable major to take alongside a biology major, how much of an overlap should there be between the two?

For example, I want to take something that that applies advances in science to its implications on society (alongwith a bio major). Cornell offers two possibilities- “Biology and Society”, and “Science and Technology Studies”. Both revolve around the same theme (ethical, moral, social issues), but the former requires many courses that are also part of the regular Bio major (such as intro bio, genetics etc.)

So which one would go better with a bio major?

As a general rule, majors don’t matter except insofar as they make good interview fodder. Pick whichever one you are more excited about.
