Hi!
I am graduating from a two year college this spring and transferring to a 4-year university in the fall. My current degree is Fisheries and Wildlife Management with a Wildlife Ecology Certificate. My projected degree is either Wildlife Biology or Aquatic Biology with a focus on Fisheries.
I am taking courses this summer to advance my time at the university, and would be able to graduate with my bachelors in either of the previously mentioned majors in one year.
My first option would be to graduate early and start working in the field early (I intend to go to Alaska to work on a salmon hatchery following graduation.) I am thinking that I should major in Wildlife Biology and take a couple extra fisheries classes. Since I would have done 9 months of fisheries-related work (three summers) by the time I returned from Alaska, I think majoring in Wildlife Biology would diversify my resume.
My second option would be to double major and graduate in two years. Some of the classes overlap, and it would be a very relaxed two years. However, that is a lot of extra time being locked to one location. Without working full time.
