Does anyone know someone who is double majoring in computer science and math? Is double majoring usually encouraged/discouraged by the advising staff (specifically with College of Natural Sciences).

The advising staff do not like students who double major because it requires “more advising” and “more thought” and most advisors are lazy. The general vibe is that double/triple majoring is discouraged.

Math + CS Double major is relatively easy since:
- They are both in College of Natural Sciences
- They are both Bachelor of Science degrees
- Math and CS are very closely related

A double major is not hard. It just requires planning. Most people who say double majoring is hard are either juniors who it’s too late for them or lazy freshmen.

I recommend doing it. You will get a lot more, educational wise, out of your college experience.
