Doubts

Im not sure if im in the right topic but i have huge doubts about university admissions

Im from Brazil and always studied in a good school and had good grades until i made a mistake (that i dont regret at all) i jumped out of school to travel the world, i was 16 and i had no clue what i wanted for life and truly a lot lower ambition than now…

I finally found out what i really wanted but because im already 20 i had to go to a very bad “school for adults” to finish my high school, and even tho my grades are ok, i think anyone could do the same.

Now im living in Hong Kong working on getting my IB diploma.

My problem is: I wanna work in finance (banking) and knowing the market and know how competitive it is i wanna be well prepared so i wanna join a good university from my list of opitions Yales, HKU, stanford… i dont think im well prepared academical for them (even tho i know i could keep up with the work as im very focus and sure about what i want in life and have enough experience)

does anyone know any courses or way i could work on my academical history in order to joing them?

i think you have to work on your IB first.

I believe your experiences can make a GOOD essay, which can appeal to US univs!! :]
This can be a good strategy.
HKU is also great choice, but i think they grade academically good students first…
so watch how your IB scores comin out.

since finance is everybody’s first choice in these days, it’s really tough to get in.
I don’t really know about US univs but if you list some questions and reply to me, I can ask my friends and teachers. :]

I’m applying for HKU this yr, so let me tell you about things i know, finance is very competitive area.
I have some friends who study IB and apply for this year for finance and business on HKU,
and they usually got at least 40.

altho i’m studying SAT and don’t really know about IBs, I heard it’s really tough
and competition seems going worse every yr for univs in hongkong.

but there’s still hope, u know.

study hard!! I really hope you good luck.
