Anyone else not done yet?

wrong area sorry

Don’t be sorry, it’s not the wrong area. Parents are down to the wire, too. I’m not done with Christmas shopping, haven’t made cards, haven’t bought a tree, and am several weeks behind on my work deadlines and have a big phone conference today, for which I will not be prepared (that’s why I’m on CC). I am definitely not done yet, and neither is my son, who has not finished his applications. Join the club.

neumes, I’m with you, a parent who is down to the wire. No tree, no cards made, not done with shopping, in fact barely even started shopping. And I’m in the midst of trying to close on a house & sell the one we’re in. I can’t even imagine buying a tree since I don’t know if the sale of our house is going to close tomorrow or or maybe not until Dec 26 & the purchase of the new house can’t go thru until the sale of the Oakland house goes thru(and the seller refuses to extend the contract beyond 12/21)…I told DS who went out last night and hasn’t returned (no worry - I told him I’d rather he sleep at his girl/friend’s house rather than drive home at 2 or 3 in the morning) that perhaps we’ll be out on Xmas eve picking up a left over tree from a lot somewhere. Yes, we are down to the wire here.

I’m completely nuts too–nothing done and a big construction project in our house with a million decisions to make.

and my battery just died.

^^Are the mice getting to BATTERY now??

It occurred to me, but it’s really cold here and I think the 4yo batterey just up and died. Puts a crimp in your afternoon.

not a parent, but im down to the wire. havent finished ANY applications, (not even the common app, and i have 9 schools!) except my georgetown one that just got deferred, i have four midterms in the next three days, i have to work three nights this week, and i’ve managed to come down with ear infections in both ears, strep, and mono. thats quite a feat, if i do say so myself. and, i’m driving 9 hours to meet my family in another state on the 22nd. (thats why i’m on CC, lol neumes.)

Oh, dear, Inspiration08.

My dead battery is as nothing. My son didn’t apply to Georgetown, so I guess that’s not the CA? You do still have time, as I learned from my son, to do plenty of apps. Do your safeties first and go from there. Your health is more important than anything. You sound very resilient.

Yikes! Please take care of yourself–GET SLEEP! (Yes, I’m cyber-nagging you.) All of this will make January seem like kindergarten, I’m sure. Good luck!

aww thanks for the concern. i’m almost done studying for my exam tomorrow (AP english!) and i’m about to get some sleep. you guys are so sweet, i dont even mind being cyber-nagged.

I hope you’re being medicated for the strep.

actually, im allergic to zithromax, which is what they give you for strep usually. im on a couple of different things, including antibiotics.
